In 2010, Ponemon Institute conducted the first Security of Cloud Computing Users Study sponsored by CA Technologies to gauge the level of security the cloud was giving to customers. The study revealed that organizations were facing challenges whens securing their cloud environment.
Since then CA has commissioned a follow-up study, the 2013 Security of Cloud Computing Users study, which is debuting almost 2 years after the first study was introduced. The second study set out to determine what changes have occurred when it comes to how organizations are facing the challenges of creating a secure cloud-computing environment.
Ponemon Institute surveyed nearly 750 IT and IT security practitioners for the 2013 Security of Cloud Computing Users Study to see how cloud security has progressed over the past two years. When the results came in, they showed that security is improving, but cloud users still have lingering doubts about the security of their environment.
