With more and more men in the UK having cosmetic surgery medical negligence solicitors Paul Rooney have produced this infographic detailing which procedures men mostly go under the knife for. Between 2008 and 2012 there has been an explosion of male cosmetic surgery with the number of procedures on men increasing by 16% in one year between 2012 and 2013 so that 1 in 10 UK cosmetic surgery operations are on men. The most popular surgery for men to have is rhinoplasty, which saw a 9% increase over one year and is up 48% on the number for 2008.
There has been an increase in the amount of surgery to the face and head with a 45% increase in the number of men having eyelid surgery since 2008 and a 6% increase in ear correction operations. The biggest year increase in head surgery is for face and neck lifts of which there was a 19% increase between 2012 and 2013. The most popular surgery overall are those related to weight reduction with and 146% increase in male breast reduction between 2008 and 2012 and a 6% increase in liposuction in the same period. However, between 2012 and 2013 there was a 28% rise in liposuction procedures.
