Mutual, Shepherds Friendly Society, have carried out a survey looking at how money impacts our relationships. Once they had the results they collaborated with Dr Becky Spelman, Psychologist and Relationship Expert who explained what the results might mean.
The survey asked a few taboo questions such as whether money plays a part in how attractive you find someone, who should pay on date night and whether you would break up with your partner if they came bankrupt.
The results showed that 22.4% of men agree that money plays an important part in how attractive you find a partner, and 36.1% of women agree. Becky Spelman explained that this is because traditionally, men have been seen as provides for the family and sometimes women still look for indications that a man would be able to care for her. This is just one example of the interesting results from the survey!
