Recent figures published by the Irish Arbocultural Association shows that there has been a drastic increase in enquires for tree services in the last 14 years. This is due to a variety of reasons but reportedly the most significant is that regular tree inspections were mandated by EU regulations in 2012. These newly required tree surveys have led to increase related works.
The most common job required of Irish tree services companies is tree topping or removal due to obstruction of a view or sunlight. The next most frequent job is branch removal because of danger to personal injury or damage to property. This has seen a huge increase since 2004. After that the IAA indicated that there is wide range of work that includes various types of aesthetic trimming and pruning.
The IAA also indicated that due to a rise in the cost of insurance, Irish arborists would be forced to increase prices across the board. Whilst they have welcomed the higher levels of regulation in the industry, some members have complained that increasing costs will hurt their bottom line.
