ECommerce hubs are a growing part of the Pakistani economy. With a wide consumer network achieved through telecommunication and banking infrastructure, online business systems are viable and secure. Consumers can directly pay for their purchase through online stores such as Daraz and PakWheels. Pakistanis are increasingly using online services to solve problems such as booking hotels, air tickets, bus tickets, cab service and ordering food from Foodpanda.
The digitization of the economy encourages micro small and medium enterprises (SMEs) delivering goods to the consumers. The eCommerce market is currently dependent on national networks with services such as delivery bikes such as TCS and FedEx. They outsource their electronic payment systems to systems connected to telecom networks such as easypaisa and Western Union. These third-party services help accelerate online sales. National agencies such as Benazir Income Support Programme are switching to an electronic cash transfer culture. An electronic payment infrastructure will boost social development and help holistically grow eCommerce in Pakistan.
